The First Event In UTD’s Distinguished Lecture Series Is A Sellout!

The Arts & Technology school at the University of Texas at Dallas is hosting a Distinguished Lecture Series, presented by The Dallas Morning News. The first event in the series took place Wednesday, January 23rd with author Robert Edsel.

Edsel is the author of The Monuments Men: Allied Heroes, Nazi Thieves and the Greatest Treasure Hunt in History, which describes the incredible efforts of American volunteers who tracked down and retrieved priceless artwork stolen during Hitler’s occupation of Europe. Actor/director George Clooney’s upcoming movie, The Monuments Men, is based on Edsel’s book and will be in theaters soon.

Tickets still remain for other lectures in the series, including speakers like tech executive and UT Dallas alumnus Christian Belady, Vinton G. Cerf, a “father of the Internet,” and astronaut Mae Jemison. The next lecture in the series features Christian Belady, general manager of Data Center Services for Microsoft’s Global Foundation Services, who builds and manages cloud computing technology at Microsoft.
